My 14 yo nephew drew a 4th season cow elk tag. I have hunted deer in the 4th season in the lower country but have never ran into elk . So I take it they are in the high country. Any DM’s appreciated on possible spots to check out. Thanks.
We've hunted north of Pagosa Springs but only the 1st and 2nd season. Allot will depend on the snow.
Figured 4th season the elk would move down out of the high stuff.
Which unit? That would be helpful.
I live in Pagosa, should be fairly esay to find a cow in November. Depending on weather they won’t be much above town
I’ve hunted out of Pagosa for about twenty years but it was always in the first or second season and in general the elk were UP there.
Hunted south of Pagosa for many years but rancher retired and sold his property, in 30 years of hunting Colorado this is the 6th time we had a sweet setup only to have developers come in and buy it up... If I only had an extra $8 Mil
