Can't find anything on the website, any guesses on when the results for the elk draw results are released ?
See <
www.wildlife.state.nm.us> for info.
Application deadline 20 March, results available 24 April.
My second year in. A long shot but I got a chance.
My names in the hat! Also for a sheep tag. Somebody’s gonna draw ‘em, might be me!

I'm a NR in for elk and Oryx and one of my grandsons is in for NR youth elk.
New Mexico is low odds for drawing a tag and only five days to hunt. If you draw, best to have a good guide or really know your unit.
In 94 I put in for the Gila and drew my first year…..
Things have changed considerably.
Maybe tomorrow we will find out the results of the draw.
Draw is up.
Sea of red for me.🤬
I got drawn for archery deer and rifle cow elk.

Congrats, a couple hunts really shock me I didn’t draw.
Thanks SLM, I'm just glad I got some tags.
I figured I would not get oryx, but a slim chance on antelope and elk.
Red for me and my grandson.
All red here too, yet again..
Just got their email.. I guess the good news is I should have my "consolation prize" in about a week:
Unsuccessful applicants should receive refunds on credit cards over the next week. Check refunds for all other unsuccessful applicants will be processed by the end of April.
I'm still hoping for a WY cow tag.
I got Barbary Sheep and Javelina. Looking into a guide for the BS now that I have a tag in hand. Does anyone have a recommendation? Or anyone to steer clear of?
I got a straight line of RED ALSO
I drew a muzzy tag, 1st time ever applying drew second choice in new mexico too.
I know 3 others plus me completely skunked
I drew a muzzleloader deer tag. Struck out on everything else. At least I can take my Hawken rifle for a walk in the forest.
Drew a elk muzzy tag unit 7
I drew a 16b rifle. First time applying in New Mexico! I feel lucky but really don’t know anything about the unit!

Great unit. Be in shape or get some horses.
Always failed to draw. I stopped trying. I need a more likely draw so I can plan my fall.
No luck got a spring Turkey on the 15th and will hunt the predators hard in the fall

16B is a wilderness area with no vehicles, atv, or anything motorized allowed. You either pack in/out with horses/mules or your back.

I assume you it’s mandatory to have a guide/outfitter if you’re a non-resident?
If you don’t, hire one for this hunt. It will be well worth the investment

Did you draw through the outfitter pool, or the DIY 6%?

Rick, what are you saying in your first sentence here? It's not mandatory for a nonresident to have a guide for hunting in wilderness in NM is it?

No, you do not need an outfitter/guide.
I applied through Kelly Lopez. He owns Hi Lo Country Outfitters.
