Montana wolf licenses go on sale on Aug.31
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks will offer licenses for sale beginning Aug. 31 for the state's first regulated wolf hunting season. In July, officials set the statewide harvest quota at 75 wolves for hunting seasons that are set to open Sept. 15 in select backcountry, or wilderness, areas. Jul 30, 2009

This big Alaska sub species will make a great rug!
Hope everyone shoots ten a piece....oh wait, did I say that out loud? That is probably about 10% of what the quota should be. If it is anything like Utah, they issue one tag for cougars in an area that has several hundred cats. "They don't want to clean them all out." Sheesh, what a bunch of pin heads. Flinch
Do you have to be a resident?
I thought I heard Obama put them back on the "List" again recently. Maybe I heard wrong.....forget I ever said anything and shoot all you can.

Long
no. non-resident tags will be available.
Awesome I was planning on visiting some friends in montana and may just end up bringing my rifle.
You need a tag to shoot wolves in Montana ?

In my area all you need is a rifle.

On my neighbor's ranch G&F people are pretty scarce.

He has a shovel.
