Friend of mine sent me a photo of a bull his son guided
a hunter to. Hunter "shanked" an arrow into the bull's flank
and the bull was lost for 2 days.
Young guide searched the Mt. for those 2 days, until
finding the bull and running the 2 black bears off.
426 gross B&C, enjoy and safe travels

That is some massive antler. Too bad how it ended, though.

I wonder, is the young guide the owner of the horns? Is it ethical for him to get them? Does the shooter get them?
I dont know the answers.
Whats the right thing to do in a case like this?

I'm sure the hunter will get them
and Mr. Clint will get a full
pocket of $$$
interesting, Pope & Young said
they won't list it as a bow kill.
Lost for 2 days they are calling it
a pickup ???

That one brow tine is wild.

Very nice bull! The hunter must be sick not because of the size, but because of not closing the deal. Glad to see the guide went back up there and was able to find him.

I'm guessing the hunter himself would have had to found it to count it. There was a big Canadian whitetail a few years ago they counted, but the hunter found it himself.
That bull sure grew. I missed him a few years ago and he was only a raggy five point.

Persistence payed off. Can you imagine carrying that much bone around on your head?

Ask your local politician.
Most of them are boneheads.

I love threads like this, highlighting when on of our own goes the full distance and does the right thing by the hunt - great job to the guide...he deserves a ton of credit!
