Anyone ever hunted this area. Looking for general information about area.

Slingblade 24 Hr Campfire continues to frustrate me using the PM mode, I just cannot get it to work well for me, so posting here.
Google is your friend Google images... then just start researching all the photos and web links to find the desired information.

I sent a PM on Jaru Knob, and your welcome. Almost anything from summitpost.org will be good info on the location, not necessarily from a hunting viewpoint, but sometimes hunting tidbits are included by the article poster. Hungry Horse
Phillip; From the article on Jaru Knob in your PM's I found a article from Debra Vanwinegarden on Lone Cone and Little Cone with beautiful photos and good trail descriptions on how to get there. It was on the right side of her Blog, click on Sept 2016.

Looks like a beautiful hunt area and should hold game.

Sorry the PM mode on 24 Hour just will not work for me tonight. This is the same area as in the Summit post.org link, but much better details & photos, I think.

I am suggesting you go back and look at all her monthly and annual blogs as she does some great hiking location reports in the San Juan mtns. This might not be in Unit 74, perhaps Unit 70.

Phillip: In the above post, that blog article was from Sept 2015, I could not edit it, tried... but cold not edit . The author says Little Cone and Lone Cone are approx. 10 miles apart. Access is difficult on public land to reach these locations, but she shows you how in the Blog article. HH

*** Does anyone else have trouble sending PM's or editing posts on 24 hour campfire ? Seems the pop adds are causing problems. I can only send PM's and edit post at 3:30am or later, I am in the east in s/w Pa. Comcast is my ISP. HH

Fair amount of private land on Lone and Little Cones. Start with getting a Uncompahgre National Forest map, I'm sure they are available online from the FS. Working in between the private lands can be a good way to hunt. These days a LOT of those ranches have been bought up by the Rich&Famous--the Telluride influence now extends for a 40 mile radius from T-Ride.

I believe the author would not mind this being shared, just give credit when posting. She has done us all a great service by compiling this information.
