I am a devote Nosler guy.

For the small Carolina wild game BT's work just fine and out West I use the Partitions.

My first instinct is to go w/ a 160 gr. Partiton in the 7mm saum but I think the new 150 gr. tsx would work just fine for elk.

I know some would say go with the 140 gr. tsx but I don't know if I could sleep at night going down that far <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

For Carolian deer & hogs I was thinking either 140 gr. accubonds or 120 BT's.

What are you guys using?

Thanks.

I used Nosler Part in a 7mm Mag. to take my elk, they were 160 gr.
The SAUM is a short action version of the 7 Mag. so they should work fine.

My wife has used 160 grain Nosler Partitions in her .280 AI (essentially the same cartridge) very effectively on elk. No doubt a 150 TSX would do the job about as well. I don't think that you would go wrong with either--it's just whichever one shoots best in your rifle...
Year before last, I shot a nice bull with my 7mm saum using 160 accubonds.

They worked just fine, but given the shot, any bullet would have worked. I wasn't terribly impressed with the penetration, etc. and personally would go with the TSX. Nosler partitions are excellent bullets as well.
my 7mm RUM loves both the Nosler accubond and NP's. i usually run the 150 NP, but may swap to the AB's if i can make them group as well.

I have used the 150 grain Nosler part on large critters lanched from a 7 STW without any problems at all. With the TSX it won't break-up like the nose of a partition so i wouldn't lose any sleep if using a 140 grain for elk.
I'd sleep at night packing any of the following... and would pick the one that shot the best... as no critter will differentiate between the lot IMHO:

140 TSX
150 TSX
160 TSX
150 Partition
160 Partition
160 Acubond

MY personal choice would be the 140 or 150 TSX though.... but all will be deadly.

Good shootin'

I like AB's as well for the 7 Rem mag, but they are very long. They *may* cause a problem there on the shorter action?

MtMike, I have used 160 gr. accubonds in my 7 saum with no problems at all. I can get over 3000 f.p.s. easily with them. I have found accubonds to be very accurate in my rifle. All of the bullets you guys listed should work fine.
I've used 160 gr. accubonds a lot in my 7 saum with no problems, and I've gotten over 3000 f.p.s. too.
Count another vote for the 140TSX.
150 or 175 grain core-lokt for everything elk and deer
