I’m in the tire kicking stage of putting a heavy 6br together for punching paper.

Would like to have as much usable magnification as possible in the sub $1500 dollar range. I’m not opposed to a fixed magnification optic. There won’t be any turret spinning except to obtain initial zero.

Looking around I see the 10-50 Sightron and would like to know if they are actually useable at 50x. All shooting will be from a bench.

Anyone have or have experience behind one?

50x on mine is OK....IF the mirage is manageable. On The range where I shoot F class, that usually means that 50x will work for the first relay, but later in the day, I'm usually down around 30x to 40x , maybe even less, depending on conditions.

Don't overlook a used NF 12 x 42 BR scope (usually around $1000 or so). They are rock solid, great optics, the only drawback is weight.

Yep, they are on the possibles list along with the Leupold 45x.

Weight isn’t a concern, I’d guess this rifle will top 15# all up.

Back before they had the 10-50, I was running the 8-32 for a 1000 yard Benchrest stock class gun. I bought the 10-50 to replace it as soon as they came out, and was disappointed in the clarity on 50X, and the parallax had a very tight window.

I took it off and replaced it with a 12-42 Nightforce BR.

I'd go straight to the Nightforce.......
