WTF do I do? Have two to put together.
Pretty simple:

If that's too easy, you can start from an 80% lower:

Making some progress. thank as
cheap is not good
One down, one to go. BCA side charger 5.56, $40 lower and cheap chit parts kit from Discount AR. $390 + $44 in sights and $10 vert grip that were on hand. Previously assembled as a pistol BTW....

Mucho better cheap parts on #2. PSA 10.5" 5.56 pistola KAK, enhanced trigger. $40 lwr. $420+ $60 rear sight on hand. Will get a carry handle as I like them.

Alternatively, this BCA 7.5" upper... Likey.

Function test tomorrow hopefully.

Nice work!

The trickiest part for me is always that little detent and spring for the front takedown pin. Getting that little bugger in place without launching it into orbit takes focus.....grin
Thanks Shane. I been scared to try it. Damned near asked you to do it. LOL Easier than I'd though, second at least.

Had one orbital adventure! PSA sent one extra skinny spring which helped. The "captured" disconnector spring is a great idea, it'd suck bad if not.

Dang, looking a little trailer park tactical around here tonight! grin

Appreciate the encouragement earlier this evening.
I like the looks of the first one. What brand of handguard did you use?
I bet them little dudes are gonna be LOUD lol.

What?

Yah for sure. I'll use double ear protection when not suppressed. Looking forward to trying them. Shot my 10.5" Ruger the other day out the rig's window and shattered my driver's side mirror with either the blast or ejected shell! LOL Use with caution. That 7" sucker is awful short, could easily reach out too far.

It's a Bear Creek assembled upper and just whatever they were shipping, 15" M-Lok. It was $255 during a sale they had.

I'll note that a few years ago I wanted a dead nuts reliable carbine for my first AR15 and got the FN15 pictured in the group shot, right. If the SHTF, it's the real deal. Others are to play with, but, the Ruger pistol has been pleasing me and is at the ready. If'n I was stuck in a truck at an intersection, I think one of these would be awful comforting. Get'em while you can.
No hiccups on anything. Just 30 rounds each. About the only take away is that I am not thinking 7" 5.56 is the way to go. LOL What? I said LOL!
Boomer,

Glad everything went so well.

Now that you know how easy it is, everything will be getting upgraded triggers in no time.
Thanks for sharing.

Happy Trails

There is a handy little tool for that in my Avid Armorers Tool Kit. Makes it very simple.

Buddy showed me the clevis pin trick, which makes that a piece of cake...

Now, if you've got a trick for pinning that #$%& gas block/tube, I'm all ears.

For the gas block roll pin, I hold the pin with needle-nose pliers, then tap it in.
What do you hold the gas block with? Soft jaws in a vise? I should probably finish those.
MTN boom is my hero
The 10.5" PSA is fun, will be funner with my Nomad, if the fugg'n ATF would just send my tax stamp that was approved 9 months ago, 14 months and ticking.

After some time with the "pistols" I would love to have a stamp and a proper stock. Eventually I will head that direction.

But, for now, I just threw my net worth at ammo components! Damn, got to be slim pickings quick!

Appreciate the good folk's input and discussion here. For the naysayers, just wait till I try to put an upper together you mofos! grin

Oh, for the cheap thrills crowd, bargain carry handle here.
Under $18 til the 6th.

If you like projects AND carry handles try one of these:

https://www.brownells.com/rifle-par...-stripped-upper-receiver-prod124803.aspx

At $70 I got 3. Built one into a 16" mid-length, one into a 12.7 carbine length pistol, and not sure on the 3rd yet. They got some bad reviews but all mine have been in spec and fit all my lowers fine. Paired with a pinned front sight gas block barrel they make for a tough set up.

Here is my 12.7". It is a blast in every sense of the word

I got the call! Octane 45 to be set free at last. Two years ago Silencerco had a BOGO deal. After a long backorder delay, dealer change and much extra delay on my end finally getting in to do the paperwork last December. So, 7 months, non-trust. The Omega 300 took 12 months. Couple of 300 BO projects for the Octane. Yahoo.

That upper seems like it would be awesome. Thanks for the tip.

This was with a trust.

Nice.
Got the Octane and fixed 5/8" mount and stumbled into 100 rounds of subsonic ammo very reasonably priced for today's market. Get the RAR Ranch 300 BO Friday and an AR barrel shipped today. Shhhhhh!
