Posted By: kevinJ Looking for a 11-11.5” barrel - 10/11/20
Anyone know where a man can find a 556 or 223 Wylde barrel in a 11-11.5” length. Been looking for a while now and can’t find crap. Not looking for a high/top end barrel per say but more something middle of the road.

Maybe I’m not looking in places you guys know about. Any help appreciated so I can finish off this truck gun
Delta Team Tactical had Rosco 11.5 barrels in stock a couple of weeks ago, try there.
Are they good barrels?

Don't know, but they are listed in stock. Right now pistol barrels are few and far between.

Yes a very good barrel....

Only for about 26,000 rounds of full auto fire:

In my regular looking for gun deals, I came across a couple things:

Spikes 11.5 CHF

These are made by FN, I've got a couple FN CHF barrels and they are awesome.

Rosco 11.5

Also, a del-ton (cheap but solid IME) complete (bcg and ch) 11.5 upper

Good luck with your build

If I was building for serious purposes, that FN made barrel, regardless of who's name was on it, would be top of my list.

For the price, that Rosco looks worth trying. We know they hold up well.
Screwed together an 11.5 Rosco build this afternoon. Need to get an optic for it and try it out.

Nice.

Now you just need 26,750 rounds for it.
Nice. I’m going to try the rosco I guess. Have everything except the barrel and handguard. Might as well get it done
Here is another barrel that is available as of right now. If this had been available a few weeks ago I would've probably picked it over the Rosco. From what Ive read, everyone seems to generally like the Faxon.

It probably won't be in stock long.

Already gone
Another vote for the Spikes FN made barrel. Plus it’s available in pencil profile. To me that profile balances better and makes for sense than a government profile.
Did you check ARP?

Looks good.

You have a can for it?

Nope, not yet. Planning on it though. Next thing will be an optic, probably a suppressor next year.

Cool. I'm considering a Surefire or Surefire mini for mine. A2 flash hider is not pinned and welded on my 11.5" BCM. So that's a good thing.

Got an optic and mount on the way, hope to have mine screwed together in time to break the barrel in and see what it will do before really cold weather gets here.

If you get yours set up with a can this winter, start a thread or drop me a PM and let me know how it does. It is looking like next year before a suppressor will be possible for me.

I could take the A2 off my BCM now, put a 3-prong SiCo flash hider on it, and run my SiCo Omega or Hybrid. I'm sure they'd run okay because they run just fine on everything else I put them on. But, they're a little big for a pistol. Thinking if I do it at all, I'll hold out for a Surefire 5.56 or Surefire 5.56 mini. Unfortunately, they're pretty proud of those.

What optic did you end up choosing?
Putting an Athlon Midas BTR 1-6 on mine, in an Aero mount to cut down on weight. Bad eyesight plus astigmatism rules out most other options for me.
So can someone run down the legalities of a pistol now since the honey badger deal? I’m wondering about a 14.5” barrel and a regular carbine receiver extension. May use a brace or just a foam tube over it. Any OAL negate it as a pistol?

Not sure how accurate this is, but for whatever it's worth here is an article on pistol braces. If this is halfway accurate, it sounds like length of pull may be what the ATF is zoning in on.

I hear you.
This outfit (know nothing about them) claims to have Faxon 11.5 barrels in stock as of right now. Looks like about 135 shipped, if anyone is still looking for a short barrel.
