A month or two ago I picked up a "Bluedreaux Special" Zeiss 1-4 LPVO from Eurooptic as a Christmas gift for my son. I figured I would wait until Black Friday to buy a decent mount. So far, I haven't seen any great deals on in-stock mounts. I don't think it needs to be QD. I'm not sure what height I should go with or how much extension I'm looking for.

Over the summer, my son bought a Ruger 556 just in case he couldn't down the road. He's away at college and shoots very little lately. I don't need the best-of-the-best, but I usually like to live by the buy once, cry once creed if and when I can. And, when I buy a gift for someone, I prefer that it is not something the recipient can't wait to upgrade asap.

Any deals to be had currently?

Thanks.
I bought the Leupold Mark AR mount for my Ruger MPR and mounted a Trigicon 1-4.

I think the mount was like 80$ at my local shop. Midway has it for 75$ as of right now.

Here’s an idea how it looks.

I really like American Defense mounts, the QD works well and can return to zero well. Optics planet has about 20% off. I haven't been shopping for one lately.
Thanks, fellas. The Leupold looks stout as hell. Do these mounts usually require lapping or are they mostly good to go straight from the box?

It’s not a lightweight. For sure. I had the local shop mount and bore sight it for me as I bought them together. No lapping was done, Just torqued properly and out the door. It’s been good to go since.
I've bought and used a couple of the Burris PEPR mounts. Not light, but not spendy and I've had no issues with them banging around the truck.
