Curios as I likely won't have time to shoot my M1 beyond 200 before taking it out. Should be more than enough.

Have zero at 100, drop to 200. 200 to 300 is usually 3 clicks.

Verification?? Drops to 400,500,600 would be nice back pocket info.

IIRC MV was 2700ish. I know it fell in the expected speed for a 168 M1 load.

any info welcome, even the useless stuff.

Haven't shot an M1 in 20 years at any distance past 200.

Did you set the elevation knob so it lines up with the 100 yard zero? If you have, check the 200 yard setting at 200.

I agree it's usually a little less for 200-300, at least with the 5.56. But this is good enough. Starting at 100 and going by 100s, it's roughly 3,3,4,4,5 MOA.

I know all the old supposed come ups. Looking for real life data if anyone shoots M1 anymore.

David I did not line up the 100, I'm 12 up at 100. Just looking for real life numbers.

But appreciate the input.

Its not target use, but a backup gun on a hunt. Hopefully I can get real data for 300 plus and hopefully never need more than 200 max.

Thanks. Jeff

Does the M1 have one minute clicks on elevation?

You may know this but I find it very helpful.

Trouble is, and you know this even better than me, is that zeros change due to load, barrel wear, mirage, lighting and temperature.

For hunting purposes, I'm gonna guess the rule of thumb zeros will work just fine. Most times I don't even click on a rifle when hunting. I hold high or low.

Thanks and yes to about all that.

Ditto on holding high. Moose are pretty forgiving anyway. And odds of me shooting anyway are pretty slim so there is all that. But I like data. LOL
