Friend wanted me to sight it in, put a CMC trigger in it. He provided one box of Federal GMM 168 gr. factory ammo and 60 rounds of some Ball ammo marked MEN18 7.62x51. The ball ammo I used 10 rounds of to get on the paper. Stuff shot so bad I couldn't believe it, was very hot. The Federal ammo was much better. Since I only had 20 rounds and wanted to get a good final sight in I only shot 3 shot groups. All of which were in less than .7. I was hating on the collapsible carbine stock as usual. This rifle has a PSA lower and a BearCreekArsenal upper. The lower has a very sloppy mag well and provided several failure to feeds and considering I only fired 30 rounds that sucks.
CMC?!? Never heard of 'em. Hint.

I killed that hog you fathead. The CMC was the trigger Doug wanted.
Rick, what magazines were you using? I have a pair of .260s built on the LR308 platform, one on an SI Defense lower and another on a KAK lower. When I acquired the first one already assembled (with wrong parts, no less) it came with a couple of ASC magazines which I thought would be fine based on my experience with ASC 6.5 Grendel mags...they were POSs. I found Magpul works great, and D&Hs work okay. I don't know how far reaching magazine problems really are, but maybe that lower (never messed with a PSA LR308 lower either) is really okay. Thoughts?
Well PMags are the worst offenders, the other mags are ASC steel mags. The mag well allows almost 1/2 inch of front and back play with either magazine. The lower has other problems as well, the bolt stop is almost impossible to drop the bolt to feed a round , it wont move. Probably pull the CMC trigger out, reinstall the original trigger and send it back to PSA. Even the Mag release button is balky. Worst lower I have ever fooled with bar none.
Sure does sound like a shiddy lower. Maybe it's just a dog. But maybe not...
Woof!
Since it is Dougs rifle it's up to him. I for one am done have to move that heavy toad around in my gun safe.
