What's the best ar trigger for hunting under say $150. I just put the last triggertech adaptable I had in an aero m5 6.5 Creedmoor I put together today. I like those but the last 4 I bought cost me about $250 each.

I see triggertech makes a cheaper fixed weight model but have also looked at some other brands. Years ago I often used the rock creek 2 stage varmint triggers for a decent trigger at a lower price. I still have a few but there are a lot of other options in that price range now.

Just looking for some decent moderate priced triggers for a 300 hamr, a 6.5 grendel, and a light weight 223 wylde I put together. The grendel is a cheap upper so I don't want to spend more on the trigger than the upper. The hamr and the wylde are nicer guns but will mostly be used by my kids while hunting.

I am in the market but since I don’t need anything immediately I figure that it’s close enough now to just wait and be prepared for Black Friday sales since the holidays are right around the corner.

PS…I too like TriggerTech. 👍🏼
Geissele G2S-E trigger, on sale right now at Brownell’s for $149.
Same pull weights as the SSA-E trigger at a more affordable cost.
They're not the "best," but the Rise Armament triggers are nice, and this clearance price from midway is hard to beat.

I like larue, about $85. Might have to try that rise for $67
I went with Velocity in a couple of mine.

I’ve got a Geisselle (probably spelled that wrong) SD-E in mine. Did a lot of trigger research and bought it back around ‘16-‘17.
Back then, the standard answer to “really good budget trigger” was the RR National Match, but that might have changed over the years with new brands and models.

I see the SSA-Es available that cheap from time to time. To me it's the ultimate AR trigger from among the one's I have tried to date.

I've never tried that top tier Trigger Tech but I'll bet it's a great one.
Geissele is top of the heap, but hands down best for the $$ is the Larue. Very little difference between it and the top triggers.

Another vote for Larue, excellent 2 stage trigger. I have not owned a Geisele, I am sure they are excellent as well. I have tried timmeny and rock river? Prefer Larue over those.

Didn't think I would like a 2 stage, I have been converted!
I once felt the same way about 2-stage, but after trying a good one I decided I'd like it.

The LaRue is a very good trigger for the price, and I think it is every bit as nice as the Rock River NM trigger. BUT, neither comes close to the SSA-E in my opinion. Its break makes the RR NM, LaRue, and the G2S seem pretty mushy.

I guess maybe not everyone likes a trigger that snaps like that, though.
SSA-E on sale.

MBT regular price.

I might have to try a few of these at that price.

I like those as well, or the regular G2S with a reduced weight trigger spring gets you to the same point.

Ditto for the LaRue; stock trigger spring is a little heavy.

I do the 50 cent trigger job & it works great, a set screw is needed & the handle need removing for a 10 minute job. You can also polish the parts.
I do. You can also clip a leg of the spring, but it's not needed.
Well, OK, then.

This sounds like a pretty good option to me, as I have SSA-E's in all of my AR's. Bought every one on sale. The sales were always around a holiday. I had a Rock River two stage that I kept as a spare for a while, but I eventually decided that I wasn't going to buy another AR so there was no sense in keeping it and I sold it for exactly what I paid for it.
The SSA-E is a little overrated IMHO. Too light for my tastes/likes. Good luck finding them for under $150, as per the OP. For the money, the RRA 2 stage varmint match trigger is hard to beat. The same can be said for the Larue MBT2s.

I put a 140 in my first AR project, decent trigger, have to say I think the Larue is smoother and really have learned to like a 2 stage, which the Rise is not.

That is a great deal on SS trigger though
Cheap single stage AR triggers tend to lack durability to stay crisp over time.

Cheap(er) 2 stages tend to hold up better over time.

YMMV

Larue MBT trigger is a deal for $90
I run them in 6 different guns. And I keep a couple lspares. They are very consistent.

Nailed it.
I run CMC 3 1/2# flat face triggers in all of my AR’s. No change in crispness after thousands of rounds. Plus they come with anti-walk pins.
It's not going to be the best but it is affordable.
Midway

The best AR trigger I have found is the ROCK River varmint 2 stage. I really like that trigger.

I like CMC triggers. I have several thousand rounds through an AR with a CMC and the trigger still feels great.
Geissele SSA-E. Buy once, cry once.
They're less $ than they used to be, right around your price point.
If you're building and need a lower parts kit too this is a sleeper deal on a solid CMC with the LPK.
Especially when they have free shipping like today.

I like the larues, have a few, but If you are willing to spend 150, go ahead and get a ssa-e even if its gonna cost a few more bucks.

I wouldn't buy a geiselle at full price though, I got mine for 170ish shipped at the time. The difference to me is the ssa-e breaks like glass, the larue like a carrot, that's the only difference.

My ruger 2 stage that came with my mpr is junk compared to those two.
I recently did a Rise single stage trigger for one of my builds. Advertised as 3.5lbs and my trigger gauge has it right at 3.5 lbs. Seems to be well made on the outside of it anyway. Pretty awesome trigger considering I bought it when Midway did a sale on them and the trigger was only $67 plus shipping
