I have been hunting for a long time and have plenty of bolt guns. After doing a bit of research I have settled on getting an AR in the 6.5grendel. Having plenty of stopping power and ammo capacity for defense as well, it seems like a great option. What are some of the mags that you guys have had good results with?

ASC for Grendel mags.

Basically a 7.62 x 39 case, I've had not problems interchanging the AR mags from PSA.

You asked about mags, but take a look at this:

IIRC, these guys invented the Grendel…

There are 3-4 different Grendel chamber reamers used to cut chambers so make sure you have the die set that matches the barrel's chamber. A 1 1/2 MOA shooter VS a .25 Moa shooter is the difference.
I use 10 round straight steel P mags for the 7.62x39. I also use Win 7.62x39 new brass. The Hornady brass and loaded ammo's brass is soft and the primer pockets expand easily. Also use an adjustable gas block for different powders and bullet weights.
The Sierra SMKs in 120 to 107 make excellent rounds. Powders H-335, 844, 1680 work well and H-110 with the 160 Cacarno .267 bullets do subs loads that full function the AR.

I recommend ASC or ARStoner mags from Midway. I’m also the oddball that has not had any issues running Amend2 Grendel Mags.

AR-Comp and WW748 work best for me (with 120hpbt - std 20" 5R bbl)

For factory the Hornady 123 A-max were great.

There is also LR and SR primer cases.

I use Duramags, never had a problem with them.

Brands considered, maybe think about what capacity. I started with 27's but find 15's to be much better for handling.

I have a stack of 17 round mags. But I find myself using 10 round mags the most in my AR's

I wish that were the case for me. My Grendel just won't relably feed from the 7.62 mags I have.

I have my 6.5 Grendel build complete except for the Barrel. I am waiting on my Compass Lake Barrel to arrive. Probably January delivery date. I ended up with a couple AR Stoner 10 round Magazines made by ASC. ASC is Ammunition Storage Components. They are Stainless Steel with a Blue Follower, and have a pretty good rating. The ones that I have are 10 round.
