Noveske Flaming Pig - but there several knock-offs on the market now. It will make the flame "wave" with enough flash.

Yep, I noticed that too. IIRC they're about a 1/4" higher than an LT104.

DD M4V7 with a 2-7X FFII in a Nikon fixed mount and a Geissele SSA-E trigger. My critter get'er piece.

[Linked Image]

PSA Premium Carbine with a Midwest Industries Gen II SS handguard, Knights Armament Micro rear sight, 1.5-4X Leupold European scope in a Burris QD mount and a Geissele SAA trigger. My home protection piece that doubles as a coyote (and wolf and ???) piece. It resides in north Idaho.

Both are light of weight and shoot as very, very well, frankly, equally well.

That's from a few years ago in Wyoming.
Fellow member huntr, a friend, and I, bought 4 does tags each for private property in unit 72.
She had cool horns like a spiders fangs, and was shot at around 400 yards with a handloaded 168 gr bthp.
Seems all the does had horns in this area. Just had to make sure there wasn't a black patch on the side of the jaw/head area.

And sadly no.
I had cut it for a euro mount and before it got boiled a neighborhood mutt running loose musta got it, or a coon or skunk.

BTT. You guys been putting any new ARs together? I finally got my favorite one set up how I like it now. Trying to track down my camera in my hunting gear and then I'll get some pictures up. Also, decided to try out a PSA upper and got one of those on the way. Looking forward to trying that one out.
Posted By: rost495 Re: AR picture thread - 01/13/15
I was gonna play too, but just lost all my guns in a boating accident last weekend... LOL
Posted By: Yondering Re: AR picture thread - 01/13/15
You guys take way better pictures than me, but here are a few:

16" 5.56 with Leupold Mark AR scope, and a PSA 308 (have since mounted another Mark AR scope on that one)
[Linked Image]

Posted By: bearstalker Re: AR picture thread - 01/14/15
How are you liking the PSA 308 build?
Posted By: Yondering Re: AR picture thread - 01/14/15
It has pros and cons; overall I'm pretty happy with it, especially considering the price, but some of the issues might be a deal breaker for other people.

The upper/lower fit is looser than I hoped for, the bolt catch hole is too small for the roll pin, and the chamber was a bit tight. PSA probably would have fixed the chamber, but as a gunsmith, I just did it myself.

It shoots well though; initial load workup this weekend delivered several groups under 1/2" with 150gr and 168gr BT's, and reliability has been 100%.

All said and done, I've got a sub-moa 308 AR that's reasonably light weight (10.2 lb with a 3x9 Leupold installed), produces about 150 fps higher velocity than my PTR-91, and cost just under $1000 before the scope.

I posted pics of my AR several months back but I'll post it again just because I love this rifle.

Seekins billet upper/lower
Magpul furniture in OD green
Geiselle SSA-E trigger
MI Gen2 SS 1 piece FF handguard in OD green
SWS 16" melonite barrel
WMD bcg in OD green
VG6 Precision Epselon 556 compensator

Ak, what type of optic are you running on that? That build turned out very nice! You reloading for it?
Posted By: AkMtnHntr Re: AR picture thread - 01/14/15
Right now I'm running Magpul open sights (flip ups) but want to put an optic on it. Not really sure what to get because I want to use it for hunting as well as HD.

I don't reload so right now I'm shooting factory stuff, though I have been seriously considering taking up reloading because my wife loves to shoot and I get the feeling once she shoots this AR, she's going to want one of her own. Thanks for the compliment bear.

sorry, I missed your reply. yea, pretty busy. the wife evicted my gun stuff out of the spare bedroom to the unheated garage, so I gotta pick nice days and bundle up to go putter on the guns or reload. right now I'm in the middle of reloading 5K once fired LC brass on a single stage press, and swaging the primer pockets on the Dillon gizmo.

Damn, toad. I hear ya. My guns are on par with food. Anyways.. what kind of brass you need? Only .338? I've got a few 9mm, .38 spcl, .40 sw, and .45 auto brass (not cleaned and not ss tumbled). pistol brass laying around.

Got a bit of smithin going on right now. Need to fund..
