600 rds been run on it so far. I keep my chit clean and well oiled. Have had rifle little over 4 months and have done 3 30 rd dumps back to back one time , 2 30rd controled pairs and 2 30rd 5- 7 rd bump fire off the shoulder, all the rest of the rd count has been intial barrel break in and zero/ target firing . Cleans easily and i have yet to see any wear (600rds aint alot) tactical edge arms has vids and specs. I got for 199.00 , but i also bought a stripped upper and lower and a barrel from them , owner was a little miffed i didnt buy an assembled model , but he knows he made money off parts.
DLC is really good, slick stuff & that's the lowest price I've seen for a DLC coated BCG............I don't recognize the manufacturer though.
I have 2 that have the slick black nitride finish & they are absolutely outstanding in that they pick up very little fouling & easily wipe clean as a whistle.
I bought what I bought because the DLC stuff was $50-60 more.

Reg price is 229 , lgs here in the fort campbell area tactical edge arms. One of the better ones in the area, they have someone making em for em and putting the shop stamp on em, lot of people running em in their guns in the area, the stripped lower i got from them has a serial number of 667 . Im glad i didnt get the minus 1 number from that.... tactical edge arms started in 2014 i think.
I read bout a coating that nasa has, in an article in the army times a month or 2 ago. Said the military was looking at it for wpns and it outclassed current coatings , same type of application in vacumn chamber charged with electric current. I bet that coating once it hits the civilian market will command a high price.
diamond like coating? wonder how it compares to nickle boron? I am curious about the stuff, but don't have a feel how it stands up to bore heat, pressure, friction. SIG uses it but I guess not in a bore.

That's how DLC is applied & is likely what they are talking about.

DLC as well as it's parent, chrome or titanium nitride applied via PVD (both vacuum chamber process) far exceed the wear resistance & reduced coefficient of friction of NiB.

Do some research on em , watch some vids. Tactical edge arms wont bullshyt ya , call em up. Ask for bobby the owner. Use some google-fu . When i was in the market for a drop in trigger . I talked to tom verh the owner of velocity triggers , conversation turned to wpns and dlc bcg,he said his triggers had dlc on parts and he was wanting to produce dlc bcg,s also.his tech guy told him they cant be coated inside . I told mr verh that was b.s. and sent him pics of mine. Rrsearch em up . Mine has a rockwell hardness of 96.
Look at the tail on my bolt, aint no scrape marks on the shoulder at all, wipes off with finger prrssure and a rag, i have never had a bcg that was so easy to clean , (24yrs infantry) inside the carrier clean the bottom with qtips, roll up a paper towel shove it in and twist ect ect ect to clean the rest. Google fu em up.
Pretty good then. I have one Nickle boron bolt and it has done a good job so far.
I've got a few phosphate BCG's that are still holding together. Whats this "cleaning" yall are talking about?
have a couple that have some Robar coating on them that clean with a wipe too...
Little over 1700 rds on the bcg so far, condition still the same. Btt after lurking on the other bcg thread.
How did you test the rockwell scale on the carrier?
Coating hardness per literature in tube container bcg came with. I'm not a qc inspector, gimme a break rost495. I'm not the only buyer who reads specs on gear they purchase. If your really interested their is a tactical edge arms vid where they run a hack saw blade on the darn thing at the shot show I believe. 5th SFG also runs TEA parts now per approved local purchase authorizations.
some folks have testers, I was just curious since you said it was X, not that they said it was X.
Don't try to read more into my question than is in there....

Gotten some decent advice from you over time, just don't care for your condescending manner in giving it honestly or how you try to allude for explanations on this or other threads. I will tell you that you were 100% wrong in your opinon of ar15.com. Molon over their is wealth of knowledge and experience and interacts with others on a equal basis and has no self proclaimed throne he sits on. How do ya like me now🤗
Same as I've always liked you. Like I said, don't read so much into my posts... I"m short on time a lot of time and poke out a quick answer and head to teh next job.
We all need to learn how to be offended.

Nice looking BCG. Is it made by Anderson?
