Want it to match an upper. Don’t want to spend $250+ when I’m not sure the “name brand” lowers offer anything the of brands do not.
It's just a standard forged lower, most of the name brand ones are good to go. If you got to have an LMT though, there are some out there.

I"d pay about 65 here for whatever was on the shelf. And not even blink twice. Even if it was going to be used to build a match gun or a gun I could rely my life on.
I can buy Aero Precisions all day for $65. I find it hard to believe LMT's are that much better to be worth twice as much.
kwg
I ordered a few stripped lowers from PSA today, $49 ea.

The question is directed to having an upper and lower match. I don’t think one branded lower is much better or worse than another branded lower.

Or at least that’s been my experience.
Do you mean you want the the metal finishes match?
No. LMT branded upper with LMT branded lower.
Ah, thats going to be harder to do. I"m not sure what you'll accomplish though. Other than its what you want. And thats more than enough reason IMHO.

Wish I had one I"d send it to you. Just never bought higher dollar lowers in my life. Once upon a time I wanted to spend the jack for a stainless lower... but I came to my senses... LOL
Actually re reading, 250 for full lower would be fine. 250 for stripped. No way in hell. I'll buy you some stamps and you can stamp LMT over whatever else is on the side. LOL.
Boutique lowers like Noveske and others are often anodized then Cerecoated. Extra protection, same finish, maybe worth it maybe not.

As long as it's in spec, the holes are straight and in the right spot, right angle, anodizing is thorough, machining done before it's anodized and the mag well allows mags to fall free, it'll work just fine.

Nothing wrong with spending more to get what you want and what you can trust.

It wasn't long ago people were pimping Anderson as "just as good as" when in fact it wasn't always the case...

I missed that. What was the issue with the Anderson lowers?
I"ve only seen a few Anderson's, nothing weird yet.

Had a bunch of my bulk purchase of white lowers from years ago anodized clear recently, then am going to lightly blast them and cerracoat. Should be fun to play with anyway.

But then I"m less than impressed with cerracoat actually... if the local place would have been able to anodize in color I'd have done that in a heartbeat.

I have 3 cerracoated guns, I mostly wish they'd have all been nitrided instead at this point.

I only bought one and while it worked fine, they machined the mag catch cutout after anodizing. As I said it worked fine but it bothered me, I remember another company cutting M4 feed ramps after anodizing which raised concerns about the exposed softer aluminum. Got to looking around and read about several QC issues. I traded mine back to the dealer I bought it from for something else.

I have a cheap Charles Daly lower that is as perfect as any I have ever seen, as good as my Colt's and Noveske's. You don't have to spend a fortune on a lower but the cheaper they are, it seems the QC goes down too.

I have an Anderson. It's fine, but the black isn't black black. kind of a black coffee in the sun. I think I did add a washer to the grip screw.

$140.00
I bought a few Anderson's when they were $30 a piece, none of them have been any trouble. Still got a few I might put together "just because".
