Barrel: Barrel is made for Palmetto State Armory by FN Manufacturing using their proprietary blend of hammer forged chrome molly vanadium that is referred to as "Machine Gun Steel" by virtue of its use in FN's M249 and M240 weapons. The hammer forging process work hardens the steel, making it more durable. In addition, the chrome process for the bore allows for a lining almost twice as thick as a standard M16 for enhanced durability. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, with a 1:7 twist, M4 barrel extension with extended feed ramps, and a carbine gas system. The barrel has an A2 style profile, is Mil-spec phosphate coated, and MPI/HPT tested. The upper is finished off with a .750" low profile gas block, Palmetto State Armory 9" Lightweight Free Float Rail, and an A2 flash hider.

Mine does have the bolt carrier assembly and charging handle and was $259.99 plus 6% tax. Shipping was free.

That's very similar to the nitrite one I have. It doesn't shoot bad, but I've never broke an inch with it at 100 yards.

So far it's favorite bullet is the 53gr Varmageddons.

Right now it's set up for my 10 year old son with a red dot and a .22lr adapter.

I've got one of the PSA nitride 10.5 pistol uppers too, and yes I've looked over the FN barreled upper many times. I did buy one of PSA's pinned/welded 14.7" FN uppers a while back, no complaints with it.
