Do y'all do any drills? If so what are they?

We have been doing a drill consisting of 2 (BC-27) half size silhouette targets with an X ring, 9 ring/ 8 ring and a 7 ring, one at 100 yards, the other at 200 yards. Start by standing with an empty gun at 100 yards, at the timer, load and shoot 10 rounds, drop to sitting, mag change, fire 10 rounds at 200 yard, move to prone and fire 10 using the mag as a mono-pod. Using 1-4 scopes or red dots with M193 ammo. Not going to set any records but it's fun. Times are usually 90 seconds or so.

Looking for some new drills to do.

Try the Carl Ross positional match in the hunting rifle forum. Generally it shuts up the loud mouths and you see who actually shoots around here... I can dig it up, but I believe I'm still the high score on that one... wink . Formid shot it and said he uses it as a training aid...

any practice makes one better.

We used to fire less shots on things like that to conserve ammo, just changing mags and firing 2-3 rounds, change mag and position or just mags, does well with the body. Makes you smoother and faster. And you can repeat more often with 2-3 shots.

Other than that, typically one would do drills that cover what you are thinking, even if they are made up in your mind, but for what you feel your weak spots are or your anticipated goals.

Oh yeah if shooting with a friend have. a few dummy rounds in there, and let them load your mags. If by yourself dump your dummy rounds in a pocket, and mix up ammo, load without looking....
