Looking for an affordable 6.5 gendel upper

Preferably a 16 inch with a 15 inch free float m lock or KeyMod Handguard

Will be used primarily for pig killin

Any good ones out there for cheap????
Sign me up for one too. 18" or 20" ok.
If you’re buying complete try to catch an aero on sale. I’d imagine they’ll shoot plenty good for pig killing. Palmeeto state even cheaper.
I’d avoid really cheap barrels and uppers from companies like Bear creek based on what I’ve read

If you’re building lots of options. Barrels available everywhere from real cheap to $500+. I’d get a mid grade barrel ($250-$350), handguard of choice, good BCG. I think you’d have $600-700 in it going this route
PSA 12.5”

Good to go.
I have looked and used Bear creek a.uppers and they do kill pigs.

I know that some problems have been apparent in the past but i can say that at least 3 work.

I have a 20 in.,the brother in law has an 18 in.and a friend has a 20 in.

We did have them replace the first 18 in barrel but since the new one was installed it has showed no problems.

They do have other caliber uppers on sale at times.

I think the complete upper i bought cost 175.00 ish.

Stainless barrels?
I have a bear creek upper and Alexander mags. No problems .
Bear creeks sure are tempting. What kinda accuracy are y’all getting?

I hate when I can’t get a gun to shoot at least around 1 mos with hand loads, although that’s not really necessary for pigs at the ranges I will shoot mostly.
Yep the first 18 was ss but the replacement is regular barrel steel.

We found that the only ammo that they hated was the Hornady Custom 123.

I even pulled 10 rounds and measured the powder and charges were not the same .

Loaded some Leverevolution and the pulled bullets and it shot real good.

With bullets from 90 to 129 grains and using different powders they shoot minute of pig brain at 100 yards.

The mags we use are ASC.
Thanks for the followup. Much appreciated.
If you were expecting factory powder weights to be the same round to round you will be upset.

They dump by volume with proven loads where a few tenths or so one way or the other won't matter... probably just not a load that barrel liked and cheap barrels can be a LOT pickier than top line tubes IMHO

PSA has a complete upper with a vortex strike eagle and mount for 499
I have an 18" PSA complete upper with adjustable gas block. It really likes the 123 gr. ELDM. Looking at getting one in 6.8 SPC II before too long.
I got an AR10 Bear Creak upper on accident, put it on a PSA lower, swapped the trigger out, and although I've never put it on a bench, I am getting about 1.25 groups at 100yards shooting over the pickup bed. I suspect it would do better when properly set up, but I didn't exactly work up accuracy loads, as I had Nosler 150gr Partitions sitting on the shelf getting dusty. I'd be fine with another one from BC if bug-holes aren't a concern.

If you want bug holes spend money on a match barrel, and a solid FF tube, use an adjustable gas block, and spend money on the trigger. The lower doesn't have to be special, it doesn't do much. The upper, barrel, & nut have to fit with even contact.
