Was wondering if any one has ever tested a Young carrier against a plain Jane carrier to see if there is an accuracy difference ?

This has been a subject over at US Rifleteams. Someone did get a Young's and couldn't tell the difference between it & a normal, good quality part.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Young's gave better accuracy than a poor quality BCG, but I also bet it would be difficult to tell any difference on paper between it & a good quality BCG.

That said, I'd love to see someone measure a bunch of BCGs and stick a pin down their bores to measure run out.

Not everything in improving ARs is about accuracy. Young doesn't even claim better accuracy with their carrier, although I see how their description could be interpreted that way. The improvements they've made are really improvements to durability/life - more even and consistent bolt lockup leads to better bolt life, since load is shared better across all of the bolt lugs. More contact area on the sliding surfaces of the carrier should contribute to longer upper receiver life as well.

This fits in the same category as truing/lapping an upper - it's about making the system live longer. The fact that a lot of people misunderstand it and argue about the difference (or lack of) in accuracy doesn't change the true purpose for it.

Can't speak to the NM or any accuracy gains, but I have both light and super light Young BCGs and have been very pleased with them and would buy more from them for any rifle I cared about.

My preferred BCG's but I never did an A/B accuracy comparison of a NM to a standard carrier.

I use them because they are high quality product, work well, reasonably priced & nice people to deal with & I've been using the HMB bolt version in both standard weight & superlight carriers.

Chrome is more than slick enough as a coating.
