In the past I have had issues with red dot/prism optics, none with LPVO. I am wanting something with quick acquisition, not necessarily in a self defense type situation, more for river bottom pigs and varmints. I have not fiddled with etched reticle red dots, but have read they are forgiving for people with astigmatism.

Does anyone have any suggestions for an optic/LPVO for a flat top AR?

Thanks in advance! Darryle

I love my Aimpoint red dot but astigmatism affects how the dot appears (fuzzy/swiggly/etc) which led me to an LPVO. There lots of options with a wide price range. 1X6 seems to be the standard but is quickly moving to 1X8 and 1X10. Many of the lower priced models have good reputations. My biggest caution is to be very cognizant of the weight of the scope, the eye relief and your mount. Many scopes are very heavy and depending on the mount chosen, the amount of weight on top of the rifle can be quite distracting.
Trijicon accupoint 1-4 or 1-6, with triangle. It’s like a pointy German #1, with illum and no side bars....shotgun fast at the low end, plenty precise out longer.
