I received a nice Boyds Stock. I wondered if anyone had difficulty attaching an aftermarket buttstock to their Encore. The bolt is a little short. I cannot easily hog out any wood, so a slightly longer bolt is in order.

I don't recall ever having any issues like that Steve.
I thought it was weird. Single shots and I always fight. It's never anything I did. smile

I am going to a fastener place tomorrow. Hopefully, they have something.
Update: Success! An easy and painless fix.

I am visiting Kitchener, ON. I went to a fastener company there called Spaenaur. I took the bolt in and got a longer replacement. The buttstock attaches just fine now! The icing on the cake was that I was not charged for the draw bolt!

From what I can see, not quite enough wood was removed from the area of the grip where the tang, stock adapter and draw bolt sit.

As you can see, it now fits perfectly, and there is no mismatch between the action and the wood.

I had to swap stock bolts around when I got a Boyd's stock for my Contender Carbine, in order to get it installed. Fortunately I had one that was longer than necessary on another one of my T/Cs which did the trick.
I was eager to attach rhe wood when it arrived, but was disappointed when it wouldn't bolt up. I was glad that it was a quick, easy fix though!

Encore stock bolts come from Thompson in at least three lengths depending on which stock you have. Be aware, if the bolt is too long it will keep the hammer from cocking.
