Has anyone replaced the slot head ring screws that come with the Ruger No.1 factory rings? I'm wanting something like a T-10 thats less easy to booger up when torquing down.

The little bit of searching I did turned up that a set of 6-40 x1/4 T-10s would drop in for the factory slot head screws. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks,

O-Ag
What do the Ruger factory ring screws measure in length?
The newer rings come with Torx screws:

eta: Sorry that last link doesn't work, they are the ones that I've used.

Thanks!

Yes these are the old style with the slot head. Soft, and tear up too easy when trying to torque down.
Ruger sells em for 6 bucks a set iirc. Go to their website.
Think its plus shipping
Thanks. Yeah probably $6 for the screws and $27 to ship. I’ll check it out and see
There is a place on Ebay that sells replacement screws. But their OD might be a thou bigger, and the heads a little shorter.
They sit flush, where the reg Ruger Torx sits up a little.

Wish I could find some long Torx for my vert split rings lower screws. I'd change em all.

I think that was the reason I paid more for those on Amazon, actual price including shipping was less than Ruger's.
O-Ag,

I’ve used Brownells p/n 080-924-464 for my older Ruger 77/22 factory rings and they seem to be a perfect Torx head replacement for the factory slotted screws. They are 6-40x1/4” T10. A 12-pack is $5.99 per their website.
