My Ruger No.1 458WM has a folding blade leaf spring that is a bit weaker than all my other No.1 springs.
Is there any hassle involved with replacing it?
I don’t think I’ll need a quick follow up ‘stopping’ shot for charging 75 pound Whitetail deer here in North Georgia, but I think the blade might lay down during recoil of heavy loads. Not sure why it feels weak.
I’ve not tried to remove the leaf spring but it appears that it can be pushed out from under the folding sight with a small brass punch?

I don't worry much about the deer here either...but I have trail cam pics of a Pickens county bear that might give pause if he was coming my way too fast.
