Ok, just a bad joke, it's a tiny cow horn spike.

This is the 4 digit Ruger No. 1 in 6mm rem. I got back last year from Ruger after they replaced the salt wood and repaired and reblued it.

The little buck was taken with handloads using 100 grain Sierra SBTs and H4831 at a little over 120 yards.

Well done and a very nice rifle.
Luv that rifle!! Nice 2 point too...
They did you good on the wood.
Real nice looking rifle.
Great rifle, looks like they did a good job on it for you. Congratulations on that spike.
Great way to make meat !!

Beautiful wood.
Damn fine rifle. I had never heard the term "salt wood" before today. Knowing is half the battle.
What years were salt wood used on #1s .
I didn’t know Ruger used salt wood too??
Coincidentally, I’m going over to shoot at a friend’s place Tuesday. While there I’ll be taking a look at his two current projects: restoration of an old Browning T-bolt, salt wood damaged and a recently acquired Remington 600 in 6mm Rem.
