Got out for the opener on Septmeber 1st with a buddy, walleye and deer were the agenda, and we managed to get both!
My first mule deer in velvet.I shot this buck with a #1 B that was rebarreled by a friend with a 26" Shilen barrel in Sendaro taper, 1:9 twist.
139 grain CX's worked perfectly.
extreme angle shot from only 33 yards, the entry was between the scapula and the spine, exit can be seen on the left shoulder
Although it was very hot but, we were able to wash him out with the high pressure hose on the jet boat, and it was a short 1/2 hour back to town.
had some back strap last night and it was delectable!
