Finally got my Ruger No. 1 out to where I could shoot 300 yards.

This is Hornady 105 grain bthps loaded over H4350 in Sig brass and BR-2 primers.

4 of the shots went into 1/2". that other shot opened it up to 1.3"

This is my project rifle barreled by PacNor in 6mm CM. It has the speed hammer installed. I have not drilled the hanger for a set screw yet and simply have a thick rubber grommet between the hanger and barrel.

That is a 3" circle which is way too big even at 300 yards.

Looking very good scoony.. You are right about that 3" orange dot. I generally use a 1" orange dot, even at 600 yards.. I guess if you were using a 4x scope, the 3" dot would work fine, but I doubt that was the case..

I wouldn't worry about the orange dot being too big, just shoot for the diamond in the middle. Aim small, miss small.
