I just got one, 30/40 Krag. 1/2 round 1/2 octagon with beautiful wood. I shot it for the first time today and it shoots as good as it looks!

That high wall is just gorgeous, and in a great cartridge. Very jealous here.

Nice stock design and wood. Single-set trigger? How did it shoot?
Posted By: dogwater Re: C sharps high wall - 05/16/23
Single set. I have only tried factory 220. About 1.5-1.75. Which is as good as it gets with my eyes and a blade front. have dies on order.

Excellent! Both the single shot and the lever action are nice. I've considered one of the single shots in 30-40 as well.

Passing through Big Timber in a month or so. Might be expensive if either maker has something on the shelf.

Wow. I just worked up some loads. Hunting load is a 180 hornady sst kind of heavy H4350 load at 1.2 inches. Plinking load is a 170 Speer with a light load of imr4198 at .7 inches. Almost the same point of impact for all my test loads.

I had that rifle in 38/55. Should have kept it.
