Hopefully someone will know an answer to this.

The T/C Encore .50 cal Muzzleloader barrels came in either Magnum 150g charge or the non-Magnum 100g charge barrels.

What is the difference between the two as for the load/charge difference? Is it the non-magnum barrel itself that can't handle the higher magnum cup pressure
or is it the Frame?

I can't see it being the Frame, because you can put magnum caliber barrels on it w/o repercussions. So it's either the barrel is thin-walled and
can't withstand continued higher pressures, or it's a marketing strategy for the magnum barrel?

I have both .50 cal bp barrels, and I stay within their guidelines of max powder charges. But the barrels "look" (I've not mic'd them) the same, except one is marked Magnum
and the other isn't.

Anyone have any thoughts on this or the "skinny" on it?
I was unaware there was a difference in barrels.
Marketing?
Or is it the difference between the 'regular' Pro-Hunter and the Pro-Hunter XT, the frames and Bbls are different......7
I know some are shorter. The ones I had that were 22 or 24 inches were not marked magnum. Maybe just a powder burn situation?
I'll check my barrel for length and markings.

I'm not sure about the Pro-hunter line, I'm referring to the Encore .50 cal barrels.
Now you have me curious on the Pro-hunter too, lol.
Mine is a Prohunter, 28" and is marked "Magnum".
I've only seen 2 non-magnum barrels and that was many years ago. They were both blued barrels. Starting to think maybe they slipped by QC without the magnum stamp?
And it was well before the Pro-hunter series.
