Stock options #1 - 24hourcampfire

I'm looking for stock options for my #1.

I'm putting a Krieger heavy palma barrel on my #1, and having it chambered in 7mm stw.

So what I'm look for is custom stock options, who makes what ? Has any one ever done a one piece stock on a #1 ?

What stock makers would you recommend ?

The best I know of is John Valicek (Val-A-check)he is in Canyon Lake Texas and is a master with wood. He repaired my double rifle, and has done some other work for me that was fist rate.

I know he has done some really neat stuff like a one piece BLaser R-93 stock, and has done a couple of number one stocks.

He did a 9.3x74r #1 with a super nice piece of turkish walnut. It would almost make you cry it was so pretty!

Wenig says they have patterns for #1 stocks, both 1A and 1B styles.

I'm having two made up in laminated, but they have a variety of wood choices including maple, I believe.

Their web site is mostly screen shots of their catalog, but they have been very helpful when I called and spoke with them.

John does some contract work for KDF but is not an employee. He is top notch. THat is his e-mail. Just call the number if you want to get ahold of him that is his cell.
