I'm liking the looks of that sight; I like how the mount is low enough, and the sight far enough to the rear, that you could still wrap your hand around the foreend and barrel rib for carrying the rifle without having the sight dig into your hand. I think I gotta have one for my #1A in 7x57

Since the new guy took over prices seem to have sure gone up. I think I gave $40 for my Guide gun sight. Does that Ruger sight "rotate" around the front attachment screw for windage changes given what looks like a slotted rear attachment point?

Best way to answer that is to shoot him an email. Certainly looks that way.

Looks like a standard Skinner setup. Elevation by turning the apeature post, windeage by adjusting the two tiny opposing allen screws on the cross slide.

I'm afraid not jkingrph. The set screw is for locking the elevation adjustment. The windage is adjusted by loosening the rear attachment screw and pivoting the whole sight right or left as needed. If you needed to move it right or left very much at all, it appears that something would look misaligned. I don't think I would like that very much. Never the less, for a receiver sight, it is an available option.

FWIW, I've never found the need for much windage adjustment on a rifle with a straight bbl and a peep sight mounted directly above (plumb with) the bore C/L - usually less tham 1/16".

Really nice sight...now if I could get my old eyes back, I'd have one in a heartbeat!

I got one, and am having hell getting the rear screw loose. It's so tight I'm thinking an impact type driver might be in order only I don't know what to use.

I have tried penetrating oil. Inserting a well fitting driver bit and whacking it with a hammer which usually loosens them, but nothing seems to work.

I finally got that last screw out, soaked it about a week with Kroil, then got an impact driver from Brownells and with a bit of pounding it finally broke loose. I wonder how they got them that tight at the factory.

Nice part was that the original swrew did not get buggered up so I can reuse it if I don't like the Skinner sight, but right now like the way it points.

So is the windage adjustment the two opposing screws as you thought earlier or do you pivot the sight on the front attachment screw?

I'm looking forward to your range report, hope it is workable with the factory front sight.

It pivots on front attachment screw. I don't understand why they did not make the opposing screw adjustment slide like many of the others, it looks like thre is plentyh of room.
