From my local dealer good news from Ruger, our special run of 275 Rigby 1-A's with 24" barrels and New Zealand walnut are suposed to be ready late this month.
I have one ordered with Exhibtion Grade walnut. These have been wait listed for 2 years.
Will post pics when it arrives.

There are worse ways to have a .275 Rigby...
PLEASE post lots and lots of photos! I think I'm probably glad I didn't hear about the waiting list a couple years ago or I'd be both poor and going nuts from my impatience.
Congrats in advance.
Purchased a box of .275 Rigby Hornady Ammo to go with it.

Gonna shoot it or just love it?
Prophet River said they have 110 coming. Half are spoken for. I would be all over them if I didn't just buy the .450.
Wondering if any are being shipped to US distributors or if it's a PR only thing. When PR ordered the run in .303 British I believe some went to the US and Australia.
After PR had deposits on enough .303 , believe the number was around 180. Lipseys arranged for production. The .303s were a regular cataloged item on Rugers website for a short period of time.
Even now you see PR with some new production .303 for sale. There has been 3 or 4 this year. Ruger must be using the surplus barrels from the first production.
Will be interesting if Liepseys lists any of the .275 Rigbys on their website.

Lipsey has requested 7mm08 from Ruger in the 1A this year. Some will instead be chambered for the 7x57 Mauser and then stamped 275 Rigby. Interesting.
Hornady sells 275 ammo! Really? Or you are pulling my leg? Is it different from 7x57? Why?

We have a dealer here in Alberta who put in an order more than two years ago for this run. They also have New Zealand walnut stocks.
Yep Hornaday has recently put out a batch of 275 Rigby ammo and brass. No difference except the headstamp.
So are the Canadians the only ones smart enough to order a run of these? I thought Lipseys usually got the credit for brilliance relating to Ruger.
Hornaday is making 275 Rigby, because Rigby in london made a deal with them to do so, they need the right head stamp for some countries, for example france, no military cartridges so you get cases stamped 275 Rigby and your you are good to shoot a 7 x 57 !
The order for the 275 Rigby 1A with Lipseys began 2 - 2 1/2 years ago.
Long before Lipseys became the exclusive distibutor for Ruger #1.
Gotta love the two Rigbys.
The 275 and the Eleanor.
Classics!

I think you should change your handle to: 275RigbySTEVE
I have a Leopard, (1-A in 7X57 Mauser)
and a RSI in 7X57Mauser.
Great round.

Well, that would be a lot better than 275EleanorSteve.
Plain old Steve.
Looks like they may have an upgraded pad too....
Is there any way to get Ruger to eliminate
the the Black Pads and go to a Old English Red Pad produced by Pachmayr. This would improve the looks by 1000% and make them look more like the Original Early No1.
I believe it would increase sales of any future No1's.
After reading the above posts, I was thinking that a RSI in 7x57
R would be the
ultimate "DESIRABLE" #1, but I'm still happy with my RSI in 7x57 Mauser.
Good stuff...side note and a bit of a .275 Rigby tangent:
Was loafing at Rigby's in London about 35 years ago, no customers, one gunsmith also minding the front counter. Wonderful time as he told tales of "Old Man Rigby" shooting with his .416 and cussing at Germans overhead in London during WWII.
He discovered I was a rifle fancier, hands me a rifle to inspect (rather plain, no embellishment, Mauser action) which he says has a very famous owner. I ask why, given the exact same case as the original German designed 7x57, Rigby marks them ".275 Rigby"? His answer, "My dear chap, it wouldn't do to mark Her Majesty the Queen's rifle with a German caliber."
Hence the .275 Rigby...

Since this is the "Single Shot" Forum, I'll throw my hat in the ring regarding the ULTIMATE 7X57R... Not a #1, but it'll do.....
