Beautiful rifle but a damn .270...
That's a damn shame. Sure wished it would have been a 7x57 or a 30-06
The 26" barrel is a good thing, however. smile
Ruger's personal No. 1 was a BHS (basically a 1S) in 270 Win., so it's logical they chose that caliber for the commemorative.

I would have preferred something different too, but could live with a 270, if I got my hands on one.
You can see WBR's serial#270, which is a 1S(as we now call them) in .270 that was engraved by A. A. White in several places in the Wilson book RUGER & His Guns
What does WBR stand for ??
