Yesterday I saw a factory Ruger #1 in 275 Rigby at the Post Falls Cabella's store.

I bought one this year. The comb is too high to use on the sights but it works well for a scope. The 24" bbl is a big improvement over the 22: #1A std length. They should have gone 25" for extra cool. Have not fired it yet, but I like it a lot.

Out of curiosity, what were they asking for it?

If I recall correctly it was $900. It was in their gun library.

Ya, that would be a freakin' STEAL on that rifle!

I just called the library and they don't have it. I would have picked it up in a heart beat. It's my favorite caliber and last year I had one custom built on a VZ24 action to go along with the #1 international and a pre64 M70 carbine in 7X57. If I could only have one centerfire rifle it would be in this caliber.

I believe I gave $1250 for mine. It is still in the box and haven't even opened it.

If I may, what was the bbl contour on that rifle. Is it the same as the 1a or the 1s. There is a30-06 in a local shop w 24" bbl but the contour is heavier than my 1a .

Contour is a 1A.
