I have a G1 Contender that I'm a bit puzzled with. I often dry fire without pulling hammer back (yes - small obsession). The hammer used to fall forward a small amount when fired (1/8" maybe) however it has went from once and a while not dropping to not moving at all. I still get the sound and feel of a trigger pull but I'm concerned this might be a symptom of a bigger problem to come. I've tried it on both my barrels with same result. I recently had a fail to fire that was somewhat unexpected as well.
Any ideas? Does anybody else's do this?
On my G1, from the uncocked position, the hammer will not drop when the trigger is pulled. If it is thumbed back a fraction of an inch afterword, the hammer will then go forward to the frame.
I gave that a try on mine and it does exactly the same thing. Still puzzled though as it used to fall to the frame at the same time trigger was pulled
None of the previous three G1 Contenders I've had dropped the hammer when dry-firing.
Just checked the one in my safe and it doesn't either.

Cool, feeling better now. Didn't want to end up in a hunting situation with issues. I appreciate you guys checking and posting feedback. I am now wondering why mine hammer was falling forward before at all.
On another topic - how often do you contender buffs change you're hammer spring? Any recommendations? I have a Bellm in there now that is around 3 or 4 years old I'd say.
The first generation Contender. TC doesn't call them that, but the new model is a G2, so the term fits.
