hope Ruger reads this and builds a Ruger no.1 in a 6.5 nosler ,26 inch barrel , would be a great long range rifle with plenty knock down power too

That could be a real nice mule deer & pronghorn rifle for sure!

The four #1s I “had” were not accurate enough to shoot long range.

That is why I stick to the big bores with the No1.

I own a few Ruger #1`s some have been real good on a target range with my handloads, some not as good as are many factory rifles with factory barrels. I had a great machinist who puts barrels on rifles , i rebarreled 2 of my Ruger no. 1`s with bonx barrels in 257 weatherby mags. both shoot real good a logd ways out and again with my handloads. this machinist from Minnesota builds some of the best target rifles in our nation and has built national 1000 yard bench rifles that win too. his name is Greg Walhstrom > 320 -272-4987

I shoot a stainless steel Ruger #1 in 7STW with the laminate stock and accuracy is sub moa with the Barnes TTSX and Reloader 22. The rifle is an excellent 1000yd contender with the exception of bucking the cross wind. I do not have any experience with other calibers in the Ruger #1.

I had a 7Mag in the past that did not shoot so well but I have a Lipsey 264WM (26") and a a Lipsey 257 Wea. (28") that shoot quite well. I have thought it would be neat to round up one of those 28" Creeds and rechambering into a 26 Nos or a 6.5 Wea.

I have a No. 1B .22 Hornet that is scary accurate, but the Hornet is not a long range proposition, so it gets shot at 100-200 yards.

Had a red pad 1B in .243 win that was great w handloads.
Used when I got it, had it for a decade.........throat eroded.
Didn't have the $ to rebarrel back then frown

Pops has a 1B in .22-250 that does OK, it's an even older version.
Orig owner got it, wouldn't shoot...........sent it back and Ruger rebarreled it.
Was OK after that.

Dinged up, pops still has it.
If I get it I'll have it eblued and a new bbl put on.............243 win.

Or maybe have it converted to look like a 1S in .35 rem.

black pad Rugers are usually very good.

I also have a Liberty #1B in .270. One day I goofed around at 50 yards, just to recheck zero. I fired a shot, it looked fine, fired two more and only saw one hole in the paper. Growing concerned I moved POA 1 inch, and another hole appeared exactly 1 inch away. With a 10x scope the 3 shot hole looked like one bullet hole in the paper.

My liberty #1 in 6mm shot 100 grain hornadies with RL22 at 3200 fps. It did 1.25" at 300 yards. My 264 #1 also shot very well. Antelope buck at 378 yards

forgot to mention after I had those two Ruger no.1`s rebarreled with a 27 in bonx barrel and chambered into a 257 weatherby ,I did use my ohlier conograph and with a 100 grain swift a-frame bullet velocity was 3800 fps groups were 3/4 of an inch at 100 yards some smaller,i did get a small keyhole at 100 yards but at 150 yards bullets were perfect with no keyhole at all. using a rifle like the 257 weatherby , 264 win. mag or any rifle cartridge that uses this high of velocity really smacks an animal dang hard,P.O. Ackley liked high velocity cartridges and in his book he wrote about bullet speed when he tested it on animals and effects when hit with high velocity bullets.the powder I used was reloaded22 at max.
