Awwww, JFC. That 24" light sporter profile barrel is a siren song, and it has a red pad. Just when I thought I had bought my last Ruger #1...
I would like to see one in person, I’ll ask my local guy if he can get one in.
Ronnie
Yeah, that's the kicker. Wood can be everywhere from pretty darn nice to yuck. Not going to order one sight unseen.

True, especially with a $1919.00 MSRP

Ronnie
Wow! $1919?!

I wonder what my Lipsey's K1A, SS in 250 Savage is worth these days?

I know this new one will actually sell for less than that, but at list it is way more than mine was in 2011.
Wholesale is $1248.
Is there a standard number Lypsey's does with a special run like this?

Lucky you. Those were (are) sweet.

How's yours shoot?
Three have shown up on gunbroker with asking prices of $1372.80, $1429.01 and $1450.28. They're high prices but not out of line with what dealers are asking for other recent Ruger No. 1 models.

What's a bit irksome is that all three dealers are listing these with "buy it now" as the only option, i.e. this is the set price, with anywhere from 1 to 74 available at that price. That's okay, the bad side is that with those kind of dealers the only picture they will ever post, if they put one up at all, is the generic sample taken from the Lipsey's website. So you don't get to see the one you will actually get.

Obviously tastes vary and I may be alone in this but I like the longer barrels on the AH style forends and that slender 24" 1A profile really appeals to me. Plus it's in a neat, easy recoiling little caliber, so I really, really like this particular model. But I absolutely will not throw the dice on the Ruger wood crap shoot - I need to see the actual rifle before plunking down that kind of money.
Take this as more of a SWAG than gospel. but usually limited runs from Lipsey's are limited to either 250 or 500 units, and I think more likely 250. Seeing as this is a .250 Savage... wink
Love the 250-3000 Savage and however much I like the number one; too many dollars, too much barrel for that little cartridge. An 18" bbl might make me sing a different song.
Not very enticing. [Linked Image] [Linked Image] [Linked Image]
what twist did they come with?
Every 250 that Ruger made was 1-10", so I assume.

Back in 2011 it was a run of 250. Sometimes they'd go a bit over, but not by much.

I've never worked up a load for it. Was using a load of 100 gr Nosler BTs from a different rifle and haven't used them all up yet. It will average 1.5" at 100 yds.

I've sort of gotten away from the single shots and this is inspiring me to work up a load for this old gal.
Not fancy, but has better color and finish than my last one. Wouldn't fret about banging it up in the bushes.

Not sure I can get enthused enough to pay even $1400 for any of them now. I just sold my 1V yesterday locally for what I had in it, with nary a tear.
You'd think for that price they could find a damn walnut tree with a little personality.
