Ran across an Encore 30TC barrel that is 20 1/2” long. Is this a normal length or think it has been cut ?
What would it be worth ?
I am going to guess the barrel you are referring too is a T/C pro hunter barrel 28 inch with fluting that likely has been cut at the start of the flutes. What's it worth you ask.... no one wanted the 30T/C pro hunter barrels
that were not cut as the 30TC cartridge was such a flop. What a waste of R&D money paid by T/C to Hornady. Hornady benefited from the R&D using the .30T/C case as the basis for the 6.5 Creemmo and the rest is history.

I say having been cut the barrel value is $100.0 to $150.00.
Someone had one for sale here in the Class the other day, and stated that the barrel had been cut to 20 1/2, but i didnt read the price! My buddie has one and realy likes it has taken a few deer with it!
Like the doctor said, an exercise in futility from when every maker thought they had to have their own me-too .30. Nothing wrong with it, nor particularly right either. If you can get it cheaply enough to pick up a bunch of brass and/or ammo, it will kill stuff just fine. I'd stick with a .308 or .30/06 myself.
Or, rechamber to 300 H&H....
