Any input on the feel, balance of the Ruger Number Ones being offered in 257 Wby?

I see that they've got a 28" barrel, which ought to help it make even more velocity. Like the 257 Wby really needed more velocity.. I'm familiar with the cartridge, but curious about the rifle itself - is it a well balanced hunting rifle? Something that could be carried easily while hunting pronghorn & mule deer? Been a while since I had a 1B, and have never seen one with a 28" barrel.

Thanks, Guy

I have one---they're heavy buggers. Fine for sitting but I prefer a 1A or 1S for toting around.

Thanks. Thought that might be the case. I was thinking back on a 7mm Rem Mag 1B that I owned some years ago. It seemed pretty heavy. Good rifle, but not easy to carry. For some reason my 375 H&H "Tropical" doesn't feel the same, though it's no lightweight either.

How well does it shoot? Any changes ... trigger mods, etc?

Never fired it. Maybe some day.
