Folks ,
I've got a chance to buy a number 1 in 30-06 . It's NIB estate sale . What would be a good price ?
Stay healthy .

The online brokers are your friend here if you're looking to profit on a flip. Otherwise, they're a baseline for if you just gotta have it.

It depends on the age and wood figure.

IMO, good "deal" price NIB would be anything under $800
Add $100 for Red Pad (pre 1990)
Ad $100 if there is nice figure in the buttstock.
$200 for truly fancy wood.

I bought a Number 1 "Red Pad" that was NIB with all original papers. It has very nice wood and a beautifully done rich blue finish as well.
Even with all that it was caliber that sold me because I have long lusted for a really nice Number 1 in 257 Roberts. What did I pay? $1300 which is right on the price of a brand new Number 1 but I considered it worth it for such a nice rifle/caliber.

NIB, I would probably offer about 20% off current retail for starters and see where it goes. Some years back I ran into a little 1a, light rife in 7x57, one of the earlier red pad models Metal was perfect but the wood obviously showed a lot of mistreatment at least as far as storage. It may have gotten wet, and had set in direct sunlight for years. The finish was dull, clouded and missing in spots. It's been so long I cannot remember my purchase price but think it was between $175 and $225. It took a lot of time carefully scraping that old urethane finish off. and carefully fine sanding. When refinished it is the prettiest wood on any of the #1 rifles i have.

that`s a great buy i would offer $1200.00, if they want more that will be your choice how much ? but here`s my other thought if you get this rifle : put it away in a safe place in its box and buy a used Ruger #1 to shoot . good luck,Pete53

LN No. 1's $800-850 in a large mid-Michigan sporting goods store recently. I saw a LN ss 30-06 for $1,000 in January and a nice 45-70 was offered at $900 at the last gun show. Folks are asking up to $1300 but I don't think they are getting that much.

Stay at home coronavirus issues have shut down our local estate sales and gun shows, and large number of laid off workers may further adversely impact firearms prices.
