Who else is thawing out freezers and putting up fur. I am schoked on how many guys are calling me asking if I am still putting fur up told them the market is low if any and that my prices remain the same as in prior years. And my garage is loaded with frozen bowling balls awaiting to be put up. I am guessing most of this stuff will be going of to the tannery but doesn't make sense to me in this market why guys are willing to pay someone to put up fur when there is zero money in it right now.

Mines all up. Was able to keep up through out season. I think most trappers that have someone else put up their fur is because the money doesnt mean much to them as most do for the fun of it and have full time jobs. Like paying a butcher shop to process youre meat. I dont want to sell my catch this season at current prices. Even to my private buyers the prices are cheep! But cant afford to send to tannery either.

Then again to keep the fur you need a freezer, at least for any length of time. It’s kind of a darned if you do, darned if you don’t kind of year.

I have been told of a trapper up in northern Wyoming now sitting on over 900 coyotes stretched and dried. Sooner or later a guys gotta cut and run.
