I am on the road a lot and like to listen to audiobooks, sometimes two or three a month.

Here are a few authors that I liked but have either slowed way down or quit.

Daniel Silva,

James Lee Burke

Craig Johnson

Lee Child (Dick Hill was Reacher)

Ben Coes

Mark Greaney

Stephen King

John Sanford

Patricia Cornwell

Steven King

Tom Clancy

Dana Stabeno

Tess Kerettson

Kyle Roxbury

Nelson DeMille
Too many to list...what really spins me out is I think these publishing house marketing pukes are sticking big selling author names on books written by ghost writers. I'd swear John Sandford hasn't written even one of his last 3 books...or, has undergone a profound personality shift. As a whole, industry wide, good manly fiction is becoming hard to find. Very few female authors appeal to me, the ladies have so little experience for the background needed for a rousing outdoor based adventure tale, they write schidt that is so patently false or improbable as to be unreadable.
We shall never see the likes of Patrick O'Brian again. The 60% lower sperm count reported in the news recently is well reflected in fiction writing.

Daniel Silva
Stephen King
James Lee Burke
Craig Johnson
Patterson
Michael Connelly

Probably more, all I can think of now.
