Missed this last week, but then a lotta good stuff falls through the cracks of the ‘Fire nowadays.
Never heard Metallica’s cover before. Good job, troubling video though.
Unfortunately, part of the changes I’ve seen and you haven’t.
It’s why we have so many different perspectives on things.
Remember, I grew up in a completely different world than you, and the world you grew up in is changing fast. It ain’t gonna take long, and you’re gonna be like me, “how the hell did I get here, and how do I get back where I belong?”! eek
You others don’t maybe know this but this guy is my son Ben. I’m glad to see he’s part of our family here again.
I hope the hell some of this “right wing conspiracy nut clinging to our guns and religion”, will rub off on you! grin
I grew up with some great Rock, but my roots have always been grounded in Country Music.

This’ll be a great thread once it takes off! grin
Come on guys, let’s hear those covers!

I generally hate remakes, if I know the song as originally done.

Bob Seager ownes Turn the Page.
Metallica does nothing for me, their need to F with a classic and leave [bleep] all over it
sure doesn't help.

Opinions.
It's why we are blessed with such a variety of noises.
Music to fans, caterwauling to detractors.

Good to meet you Ben.

If this was mentioned I missed it, "Stay" covered by Jackson Brown. His version's so old I think a lot of people forget it was a cover. I saw the original by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs live back around 1960. Jackson had a lot more technology. Somewhere there's' a video on it

I love “The City of New Orleans” by Steve Goodman, one of my favorite songwriters. Where I live, the edge of the Mississippi Delta, I could hear the “City of New Orleans” each night thru my upstairs bedroom window that was open. I like train songs and this is one of the best. Also like “You Never Even Called Me By My Name” written by Goodman and John Prine and made famous by David Allen Coe - especially the addition of the last verse to include Mama, trains, prison pickup trucks and being drunk. Masterful addition in one swoop. Also Leadbelly’s Midnight Special by Johnny Rivers. The Midnight Special is a train song about a special train running thru the Delta to carry women to Parchman Penal Farm for conjugal visits. Lots of history, and different types of music from this state. Creativity abounds, plenty of writers too.

Amarillo By Morning by Asleep At The Wheel. Not saying it's better than George Srait's version but they do it well too.
