The lastet book by CJ Box is a 369 page novel with Joe Pikett as the protagonist. In it Dallas Cates, the troublesome rodeo champion, is released from prison where he was sent on fairly sketchy evidence and he is set on revenge on everyone associated with his prosecution. For some reason the prison people do not notify interested parties of his release. At the same time a female grizzly goes on a killing spree. These two events lead to the story. Cates is a bad guy through and through. Nate Romanowski is involved and he has his own views of justice-- and has plenty of reasons for having them.
It's an entertaining read. A little farfetched maybe, but entertaining. It's easy to recommend it.
Enjoy!
Thanks, will give it a try.
Far fetched for sure. I figured it out pretty early. High body count. Quick, easy, read, good time waster. Not as good as the earlier Box books.
If you have read (and enjoyed) the other Picket/Box novels, you will probably like this one. I agree it’s far-fetched and not the best in the series, but is is still enjoyable. Without spoiling anything, I believe that this book really opens up some interesting story lines for future installments. Many of them are similar to some of the past storylines, but that may be a good thing.
I think ole CJ is running out of storylines to come up with a fantasy like this one.
