Son wanted to get started carving, I've been sort of out of it for awhile, I'll do one on occasion. His first decoy was a ringer, we kept it real simple. Then he wanted to do a canvasback and he's really taking his time with it and listening. Coming out well. Should have it ready to waterproof and paint this evening and if all goes well, enter in a the state woodcarving show coming up if we get it painted in time.

Excellent! Great to see a youngster developing talent. Sounds like he has a good mentor at hand too.

Stick to quality as opposed to quantity and sales may come his way

Keep it up and good luck,

Sealed, then base coated with a good heavy body black and textured surface with a sponge to get it an "eggshell" texture. Now putting some color on it

Jealous here. But it's always good to see when little kids have more talent and patience than I do.

That's awesome. Your boy is doing a great job. I love to see the kids getting involved in anything hunting related. It looks like he's got some excellent coaching. Good job Dad.

Looking forward to seeing some more pic's

Nice work, very talented I can see him competing later on!!! Hunting over them would be like shooting something with your own reloads or hand made arrows. Later in life he can get BIG $$$ for his work as a hobby. Keep it up Dad, he's on his way. GWP. πŸΎπŸ‘£πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦
