Finally made it back to one of our favorite fishing spots last week and kids had a lot of fun catching & releasing trout. (For those not familiar with it, Dry Run Creek is near Mountain Home, AR and is for youth anglers under 16 years of age and is catch & release only. (single barbless hook) Grace's biggest was a 20.5" rainbow with a 13.5" girth while Layne fought and landed a 23" brown that had a 14.5" girth. Not many browns in the stream right now, but quite a few rainbows and some nice cutthroat trout, too. Already planning a trip back down in November when there should be more big browns up in the stream. Honestly, though, it really doesn't matter...these were really nice fish and the kids had a blast catching them!

Nice bunch of fish there.

Any fishing in same stream, different area for adult fisherman?
Adult anglers with physical disabilities are also allowed to fish Dry Run Creek with the youth anglers (the wood platforms along the stream are built for this purpose), but that's it. Good fishing for adults is available in the North Fork White River in the same location:

When we go we like to stay at Gene's Trout Resort:

That looks like great family time to me and memories that they will have for a lifetime. Great post - thank you.
Nice!! Bigger than any trout I've ever caught.
Thanks for the pics and story.

Their smiles are worth a fortune, relish them!

Geno
Wow! Great pics of some happy kids. Fish were pretty darn nice too!

Kudos to the fish department in AR for designating a section of stream for the young people.
