The 6yo got his first pig the other day. Checked the cam the day before and had 28 different pigs on cam, mostly daylight pics too. Didn't get out there until 9am saturday morning. First group came in at 9:20. I told him to wait for a bigger one but he wasn't having any of that...so I let him take this one. About 50yards with the 223. He talked about it constantly the rest of the weekend.
Nice to see!
That little porker should be very tasty as well!
Good on ya' dad!
John

Got'em hooked, well done and congrats to marksman
Well done to both of you. He must of been excited.
Excellent! Good on you for letting him shoot it. The memory is way bigger than the critter.
I usually try to let each kid and grandkid keep his first of whatever. With a 5 year old on his first time fishing of any kind, we dug worms and walked to a nearby tiny creek which was all catch and release, and I let him keep his first 7 inch trout. We never kept another one from that stream. A few months later and on his first salmon foray with me on a small local river late in a spawning run, as we left the house my wife took me aside and sternly told me, "No matter how beat up or ugly it is, you are going to let him bring one home!" Fortunately of the five he caught one was a fresh bright fish. He was so proud he was bursting to take it to show his mother and grandmother.
thanks, he should pop a bigger one come deer season, have hogs fairly steady on the two pieces of property we hunt. He's all about the fishing right now.
