Proud Dad alert... My daughter's first fish - a 4.5 - 5 lb. large mouth bass! Photo was taken back in 2017, but she wouldn't let me post it until now.

Almost as big as her! Very exciting for her and I am very proud. She was very funny during this trip. It was me, my daughter, my brother and his boy on this trip. Every time someone caught a fish and let it go, she would drop her rig right at the location the fish was put back into the water - thinking she could catch that same fish.

At least she now knows bait is not a requirement.

Reloader28: Not sure what you mean. If you look at the Bass' lower right jaw, you can see the green plastic worm she used on a TX Rig to catch that sucker.

That's a toad! Especially for a first fish. Well done, little lady!

Bet she's hooked on fishing now.

Will be spoiled by that first fish to find the average fish WAY below her standards.

Congrats belatedly to the young fisherman.

Congrats to your daughter on her first fish.

Soak up that time with her. Time flies, but those memories last forever.

I did that with my daughters. Some of my most cherished memories.

My oldest will be graduating from the UofA this May - the shirt your daughter was wearing.

Awesome! (But you knew that!)

Good on you, dad, for taking her out!

Thanks again fellers. This summer I plan to take her to a Bud's place in OR to fish for Steelhead and Salmon (if in season) - Salmon runs have been low out there lately.

I cherish the similar memories I’ve had as my kids grew up. I can’t wait until I get to relive them via grandkids one day down the road. These pictures of your daughter are true keepsakes.

Well done!! I’m sure that day will be treasured forever.
I’ll always remember my son’s first fish - or, rather, fishes. He was 5 years old, we were ice fishing and the yellow perch were biting like crazy. Every time he hooked one he’d take off on the run, rod in hand and those perch would come popping out of the hole like champagne corks. It was hilarious.🤣
