Would make a neat little rug, but don't place it any kind of traffic area. Winter hair is just way to brittle.

that's what we are gonna try to do, my taxi friend is gonna send it off with his others to get fleshed, I know there are different ways to tan hides, hopefully his flesher can get the ball rolling with it.

If it's carrying winter hair, just hang or place in a decorative spot. Years back I had a couple deer hides tanned hair on. That hollow winter hair though simply breaks with the slightest disturbance. Yard saled them for half the price of tanning. Same with elk.. Cookie once nailed an early season cow carrying nice slick summer hair and that hide has held up wonderfully.

it's not thick thick hair at this point, we still having weather pushing the 90s...but its not the slick summer coat either. Talked to a local taxi yesterday that has had some success with a tannery she's been using, says the hides coming back soft and very few holes to sew up. Will it last, I don't know but will give it a shot. Wouldn't mind trying to do it myself, but I just have too much going on with two playing fall ball, deer season, getting a house ready to sale.
